Records of academic staff

Enquiries are welcome from academic staff who would like guidance about the transfer of records they no longer require for their own use.

The types of records that provide evidence of the university's primary functions of teaching and research include the following:

  • correspondence
  • letters of reference
  • research files
  • departmental records
  • university and faculty committee papers
  • course development papers
  • personal information
  • records pertaining to relationships with outside organisations
  • publications and newsletters
  • ephemera

The records may be paper-based, electronic, architectural plans and drawings, photographs, slides, film, video or audio tapes.
